Scope and Contents The documents in this series consist of bookkeeping records, invoices, promissory notes, correspondence, bills of lading, and legal statements concerning shipping, and various unassociated items (poetry, grammar) of various shipping companies during the years 1768 through 1822. The bulk of the materials date between 1785 and 1800. The majority relate to Etienne Dutilh and John Godfried Wachsmuth and other members of the Dutilh family.
